A new ECELE success

The 9th ECELE (Encuentro de Centros de Enseñanza de Español) was held from 25th to 27th November in Salamanca.   The main objective of this forum, which was organised by FEDELE with the collaboration of Turespaña, Salamanca Ciudad del Español and the Junta de Castilla y León, was to showcase the immersion courses of Spanish as a Foreign Language to teachers and managers of schools teaching Spanish throughout the world.

This year there were around a hundred participants including 42 representatives of 32 FEDELE schools and 40 academic directors and teachers of Spanish from schools in Brazil, Belgium, China, Denmark, USA, India, Holland, Japan, Norway, Poland, Italy, Turkey, Russia and Sweden.

The programme for the event was based on the innovative format of social networking which provided cultural, touristic and gastronomical activities which enabled people to learn about the best cultural and linguistic immersion programmes at the same time as enjoying visits to emblematic places in Salamanca.

As well as these activities, after ECELE, from 28th November to 1st December, familiarisation trips were made to the Comunidad Valenciana and to Andalusia.

ECELE has become a key event for the promotion of Spanish courses in Spain, an event which combines business opportunities with getting to know destinations and schools and what they have to offer both academically and culturally.
