FITUR Lingua 2026
An event designed to highlight the value of language as a driver of tourism and culture.
In collaboration with FITUR, this edition will focus on language as an essential factor in the tourist experience and its ability to create cultural, educational, and economic value for destinations.

About the event
On January 22nd, 2026, in Hall 10 of the IFEMA Madrid Auditorium, FEDELE will lead the strategic debates, present key sector data, and share best-practice guidelines in the education and tourism sector. FITUR Lingua 2026 will feature four thematic blocks that will address:
- The new profile of the language tourist
- New tourist and educational experiences that increase destination quality
- Educational programs and international collaboration as a cornerstone for boosting tourism
- A roundtable on the opportunities and strategic challenges in the sector and the role of cities in the projection of language tourism
Among its sessions, FITUR Lingua will include networking spaces and breaks to foster contact among educational centers, agencies, institutions, and professionals in the sector.
The day will be focused on the opportunities of the idiomatic tourism through several thematic blocks different that combines analysis, innovation, and strategy.
This encounter will start with “The new profile of the language tourist: new emerging groups and their motivations” which will address changes in the behavior and expectations of international student. We will present the first results of the 2025 FEDELE Sectorial report, and the study carried out by the Universidad de Sevillam as well as the analysis od EDUSPAIN and ICEX on the impact of the real state market on attracting students.
This will be followed by the block “Seeking new educational and tourism experiences for a demanding student”, which will show some innovative initiatives that will improve the student experiences related to heritage, culture, sports, and creativity. Organizations such as ASEPROCE, ASILS, Groupement FLE, and Cooltourspain will take part.
“Educational projects and international collaboration as main cornerstone for the multiplier effect of tourism” will highlight the value of the institutional cooperation with the participation of TURESPAÑA, Dirección General del Español en el Mundo and Instituto Cervantes.
The event will conclude with “Creating a new strategy for language tourism”, a space of debate where destinations, schools and agencies of the market will discuss on shared challenges and the key future priorities to strengthen Spanish as a tourism asset.
