Annual Convention – 2016
The Federation of Schools of Spanish as a Foreign Language (FEDELE) celebrates its thirteenth Convention on May 12 and 13. It is a meeting of federates where working methods are debated and common discussions take place to continue working to maintain quality in the teaching of Spanish and language tourism in Spain, based on the pillars of training, promotion and business development.
The event, which will take place at the Hotel Catalonia Gran Vía, will be supported by Turespaña and the Cervantes Institute, which since 2004 have signed a collaboration agreement with FEDELE to work on the promotion and dissemination of Spanish culture and language in the world.
For the opening ceremony of the 13th FEDELE Convention, the president of the Federation, Mari Carmen Timor, will be accompanied by the secretary general of the Cervantes Institute, Rafael Rodríguez-Ponga, as well as the deputy director of Turespaña, Rafael Chamorro.
FEDELE is made up of seven Associations of Schools of Spanish as a Foreign Language, which in turn include a total of 84 schools (depending on their geographic location), which represent the totality of this Federation founded in 1999. As a result, the schools that are members of FEDELE teach some 88,000 students.
