GERES

GERES, the Grupo de Estudio e Investigación en Español de Especialidad, has announced that its 14th International Meeting will take place in Poitiers from the 16th to the 18th June 2016,  with the support of the Maison des Langues at Poitiers university.

Business Spanish will form the main subject of discussion at the meeting.  This theme was chosen by the members of the GERES executive committee and voted on at the last general meeting of the association.

GERES is a non-profit association, founded in 2006.  It aims to provide a space for dialogue not only between university teachers and researchers but for all people involved in the teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language.  The group is open to all Spanish teachers throughout Europe and world-wide.

For those people unfamiliar with GERES, their objectives are as follows:

  • to contribute to the development of the teaching and learning of Spanish in the language sector for specialists from other disciplines by encouraging dialogue between teachers and researchers and the dissemination and development of research, particularly into education.
  • to promote the scientific recognition of this field and the value of its players – the teachers and the teacher-researchers.
  • to contribute in a wide sense to the development of the teaching and learning of Spanish as a language of social and professional action.

More information about this research group and their international meetings can be found on the GERES webpage.
