{"id":3882,"date":"2017-01-04T08:27:14","date_gmt":"2017-01-04T08:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogenglish.fedele.org\/?p=299"},"modified":"2019-11-26T14:25:14","modified_gmt":"2019-11-26T14:25:14","slug":"prize-for-an-outstanding-academic-career-in-the-teaching-of-spanish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fedele.org\/en\/prize-for-an-outstanding-academic-career-in-the-teaching-of-spanish\/","title":{"rendered":"Prize for an outstanding academic career in the teaching of Spanish"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fedele.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/premio-international-house-profesores-ELE.png\" alt=\"Premio International House a la carrera acad\u00e9mica del profesorado de espa\u00f1ol\" width=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>prize for an outstanding academic career in the teaching of Spanish<\/strong>, awarded by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ihspain.com\"><strong>International House<\/strong><\/a> schools in Spain (Barcelona, Cadiz, Madrid, Seville, Palma, San Sebastian and Valencia) together with the publishers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.difusion.com\"><strong>Difusi\u00f3n<\/strong><\/a>, was presented to <strong>Ernesto Mart\u00edn Peris<\/strong> at a prize-giving ceremony on the 16<sup>th<\/sup> December.<\/p>\n<p>Ernesto <strong>Mart\u00edn Peris<\/strong>, emeritus professor at the University of Pompeu Fabra and the first academic director of the Instituto Cervantes, is a very well-known figure in the academic sector of Spanish as a Foreign Language teaching. As well as his experience as a teacher of ELE, while he was working as a professor at the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Barcelona, he developed some celebrated teaching material which includes Gente and Bit\u00e1cora.<\/p>\n<p>According to the committee organising the prize, \u201cThe criteria used for awarding the prize are: classroom experience, contributions to different aspects of the world of Spanish (teaching, publications, research, teacher training\u2026) and the carrying out of professional work in different environments (public or private, in Spain or abroad, in statutory education or non-regulated schooling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On this occasion the organising committee for the International House Prize for an outstanding academic career in Spanish teaching has been made up by a representative from each of the International House schools in Spain and the person responsible for Spanish at Difusi\u00f3n:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Antonio Orta (CLIC International House Sevilla)<\/li>\n<li>Ignacio Grande (Lacunza International House San Sebasti\u00e1n)<\/li>\n<li>Francisco Herrera (CLIC International House C\u00e1diz)<\/li>\n<li>Berta Sarralde (International House Madrid)<\/li>\n<li>Mar\u00eda Luisa Mateu (Espa\u00f1ol\u00e9 International House Valencia)<\/li>\n<li>Bego\u00f1a Montmany (International House Barcelona y Palma)<\/li>\n<li>Agust\u00edn Garmendia (Editorial Difusi\u00f3n)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The aim of the prize is to recognise the work of Spanish as a Foreign Language teachers and the continued effort to improve the quality of teaching. The ceremony was conducted by <strong>Francisco Herrera<\/strong> and the prize was presented by <strong>Jonathan Dykes<\/strong>, Director of International House Barcelona and <strong>Agust\u00edn Garmendia<\/strong> from Difusi\u00f3n.
