\"Encuentro<\/p>\n

The 17th ELE Conference in Madrid, organised by International House Madrid and the publishers Edinumen, will take place on the 22nd and 23rd April at the Ram\u00f3n G\u00f3mez\u00a0 la Serna conference room at the C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes. This event has continued to grow since it was first introduced in 2000 and has now become a reference point for foreign language teaching professionals who wish to share their knowledge and experience with other colleagues.<\/p>\n

This year there will be experts from very different areas of language teaching, from linguistics to the\u00a0 new technologies.\u00a0 Jamie Keddie will open the conference with a talk on video-narration, followed by Fernando Trujillo whose talk is entitled \u201cHow to launch a probe into the stratosphere. Projects, passions and other entanglements,\u201d and Bernardo Morales with \u201cHelp! How can I motivate my group of adolescents?\u201d<\/p>\n

Saturday morning\u2019s cycle of talks will continue with Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Lahoz who will be talking about intonation in Spanish as a Foreign Language: phonetic corrections and linguistic and paralinguistic values. Also, Anal\u00ed Fern\u00e1ndez will give a paper entitled \u201cProcesses and Resources for a more experiential ELE learning in the classroom\u201d. The sessions will end with Sonia Eusebio reflecting on the characteristics of a quality training activity.<\/p>\n

As well as the papers, the conference will also provide eighteen 40 minute workshops \u201cDirect to the classroom\u201d. These workshops, which deal with different teaching techniques, are intended for teachers who wish to acquire new ideas and apply them in their classes. This year\u00b4s new activity will be the ELE children\u00b4s short story competition<\/a>. Winners will be published in \u201cRelatos Clan\u201d.<\/p>\n
