Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española

SIELE certifies the level of competence in the Spanish language through four tests: Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension, Written Expression and Interaction and Oral Expression and Interaction; and takes as a reference the levels established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) of the Council of Europe.

It is promoted by the Instituto Cervantes, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), the Universidad de Salamanca (USAL) and the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), which guarantees quality standards and best practices in the elaboration of the tests, and the use of different linguistic varieties of the Hispanic world.

SIELE offers candidates up to 6 types of exams to suit all certification needs:

SIELE global

It is the most complete exam to certify your level of Spanish.

This is a single multilevel exam that allows you to obtain the SIELE certificate, a document that includes: the score obtained in each of the four tests and its equivalence with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. (CEFR), as well as an overall score from 0 to 1000, which is the result of the sum of the scores of each of the four tests.

Independent modalities

There are 5 other examination modalities based on the combination of the different tests.

Any of these 5 independent modalities allows you to obtain a SIELE Report and the scores obtained are related to the CEFR levels.
