The Instituto Cervantes of Rabat, the University of Mohamed V and the International University of Andalusia with the collaboration of the Education Department of the Spanish Embassy in Morocco are organising the 1st Conference of Spanish as a Foreign Language in the Magrheb (CELEB). The conference is entitled, “The teaching of Spanish in the Magrheb: opportunities and challenges.”
The aim of the conference is to get together everyone interested in the teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language in the Magrheb – educational institutions, publishers, researchers, language tourism associations, teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language and any other interested people – and to provide a long-term meeting place and point of reference for dealing with questions related to the teaching of Spanish in the Magreb.
The subject areas for the conference are as follows:
- The teaching of Spanish in the Magrheb (at different educational levels)
- The training of teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language and research into Spanish in the Magrheb
- The economic value of Spanish in the Magrheb
Speakers and people leading workshops will be awarded a certificate by the Instituto Cervantes of Rabat and the University of Mohammed V which will demonstrate that they have taken part in the conference.
The conference will be held on the 11th and 12th of December at the Instituto Cervantes in Rabat.
